      LI Jieren(1891-1962), a master in literature, completed his trilogy of novels, Stagnant Water with Ripples, Before the Storm and Da Bo, which exerted great influence in history of Chinese modern literature. He was acclaimed as “the eastern Gustave Flaubert”. 

      Ling Ke, the former residence of Li Jieren, is located in Shahebao at east suburb of Chengdu, named after its location beside the “ Lingjiao Yantang”,Most stories in Stagnant Water with Ripples happened in the area of Sanhechang and Tianhui Town. Jinmen Sanhe old Wharf is the place where Luo Wai Zui who is figure of Stagnant Water with Ripples board to return back and leave home.

      Liu Wenhui (1895-1976), Army Commander and General of Army 24th forces, once headed the administration in Xikang province for ten years, and he was know as Xikang Lord. 

      As the representative of official residences in Chengdu during Republican period, Liu Wenhui Residence unfolds the Republican bearing of inclusiveness in the combination of eastern and western cultures.

      Ba Jin(1904-2005), as a litterateur, publisher and translator, was acclaimed as the most influential writer and a great master in the contemporary literary arena during the New Cultural Movement.

      Located at No. 98, Zheng Tongshun Street in Chengdu, former Residence of Ba Jin is called the Lee’s Courtyard. Ba Jin was born and spent his juvenile and youth years here. After liberation, Former Residence of Ba Jin became a component of Zhanqi Chorus Station in Chengdu military region. In 1971, it was demolished.

      Yang Yuchun(1761-1837), generally known as a lucky general, was an outstanding general during the reign of Jiaqing Emperor of Qing Dynasty. His troops would hold the black banner in every battle, known as Yang Jiajun then. After passing away, he was posthumously titled as “Zhongwu”, hence also called Yang Zhongwu Marquis.

      Located in South street, Chongqing County, the former residence of Yang Yuchun  (Gongbao prefecture) is the stylistic representative of messuages in Chengdu.

      Xie Wuliang (1884—1964), from Lezhi county ,Sichuan Province, forename Chen, and Wuliang or Se’an as his courtesy name, was a well-known modern scholar, poet and calligrapher. He was also secretary-general of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. After the founding of new China, he had successively held the posts of curator of Western Sichuan Museum, professor of Renmin University of China and Deputy Curator of Research Institute of Culture and History of Central Government. He was a master in academics, poetry and essay and calligraphy.

      Located at No. 44 Si Shengci Western Street, Xie Wuliang Residence is a courtyard of western Sichuan style combined with a European-style house door, integrating styles of eastern and western cultures. It is a model of messuage in Republican period.

      Li Jiayu (1892—1944), with Qi Xiang as his surname, once held a post of commander-in-chief of Sichuan Frontier Force and army commander of No.47 bloc of  National Revolutionary Army. In 1944, as Commander-in-Chief of No. 36 bloc, he died for his motherland in the Battle of Yuzhong. He was posthumously titled as general of army 

      Located at No.22, Fangchi Street, Li Jiayu Residence is a two-story western-style building with such traditional Chinese features as gray wall, red wooden window frames and slightly raising eaves. With its circular-arch door and its petrous arched windowsill, the residence, as the most fashionable building in Chengdu city during Republican period, brims over flavor of western countries.

      Initially built in 1895 and completed 13 years later, Bailu Shangshu Yuan, also named Seminarium Annunitationis, is a French catholic church located in Bailu Town, Pengzhou. It is also an institute of theology and philosophy where catholic missionaries are cultivated in Sichuan parish.

      The old  Post office is the symbolic construction of modern information civilization in Chengdu integrating into western countries. Information has changed Chengdu, and modern information revolution has brought prosperity, fashion and new thoughts for this city.

      The Old Post Office whose full name is “The Postal Administration  in Western Sichuan”, and local people affectionately called it as  “ the Old Post Office”. Built in 1937, located in Shuwa Street, Chengdu, it was designed by Morrison, the Canadian architects and Ye Rongqing.
